www.kbb.com is a great resource for finding specific models. It could be for each year, 2008, 2007 ... 2000 ... 1995 ... for a particular model, the gate is at the Excel spreadsheet and you will see the depreciation of the search for the optimal point this time is the best time to buy the car.
Consumer Reports is a great resource, but they charge for their online reports. Regular reports on cars depreciate further, and the least.
It is always advantageous to repair your old car to buy a new car. However, a new car is a part of the mind that you have less chances to get stuck with a breakdown somewhere.
